I received several emails yesterday after this news piece aired to ask if the blog was coming to an end. The answer is NO!!!
CNN STORY
Will this new change effect us, yes and no. The next time Paul goes down range it will be a problem but for us now in the present it isn't an issue. Basically Paul can't access these websites at work anymore which isn't a big deal anyways because he never surfs them at work now. The problem will be the next time he deploys. With AKO making it increasingly difficult to send and receive pictures through email I had gotten in the habit of posting pictures and updates on these various sites for Paul to see. This kept him in the loop but the next time Paul deploys this wont be an option unless he hops onto a computer at one of the Internet cafes which I seriously doubt he will do knowing him.
You ask why? Well there are a lot of reasons. Some of it being people can't keep their mouth's shut and not post sensitive information. Another reason is sites like MySpace and Photobucket eat up a tremendous amount of bandwidth and bog down the computer networks. There are several reasons. I'm not crazy about the new ban but I understand why they had to do it.
Regardless, our little blog is here to stay. I wouldn't worry too much about what will happen the next time Paul deploys either. After all the computer network is his job ;)
