The Lucky Leprechauns Playing Soccer

As promised here are a few pics of the kids playing soccer this season. Both Syd and Zac are playing on the same team. So far there haven't been any major meltdowns between the two but there sure has been a fair share of shoving and pushing.

You ask how the coach handles this?


Well he should be a pro at breaking up fights between Syd and Zac since he is also their dad. Yes, Paul is coaching the soccer team this year. 13 kids he coaches three days a week. Did I mention that 11 of the kid are girls. Personally, I am amazed that Paul has kept his sanity this long.

I'm so proud of Paul. He got roped into coaching this team when our original coach stepped down and CYS threatened to cancel the season if no one stepped up to the plate. Paul never played soccer as a kid growing up and he has barely been home at all in previous years to see our kids play but I have to admit he caught on pretty fast. He even handled yesterday's team soccer pictures with grace even though it was complete chaos. When I say chaos I mean C-H-A-O-S, remember those 11 little girls...lol

He has had some battles this season to contend with such as:
1. The teams persistence to be called the Lucky Leprechauns much to his dismay
2. Syd and Zac playing on the same team
3. Getting his team to play in the rain and mud (Remember 11 little girls)
4. Last but not least of course the daily drama that all little 8 and 9 year old girls have.

Next week marks the end of this very loooooooooooooong soccer season. Will Paul coach another soccer team I guess we will all see this fall.
