Today we took a road trip to Dachau Concentration Camp. I will post the pictures from that trip in a few days because I took over a 100 pictures and it will take me time to go through then all.
On the way back we decided to get off the beaten path to see this gem. This is a place we have been interested in seeing for a few months but haven't had a chance to take the time to go and explore. We decided since the day was so nice to take the opportunity to go explore.
"Befreiungshalle" the Liberation Hall was built 1843 by the order of King Ludwig I on top of Mount Michelsberg. This was built in memory of the liberators of Germany who helped to save Europe from Napoleonic suppression "Liberation Wars" 1813-1815.
Above the door is written...
" To the German liberation warriors By Ludwig I, King of Bavaria"
The view is just AMAZING from this sight....
