A Day of Fun

Today was Organizational Day for Paul's unit. Organizational Day is most commonly known by soldiers as "Mandatory Fun Day". Usually in the past I always dreaded "O" day because I was running around like a mad woman because in the past I was either an FRG leader and/or Secretary for the Command Leadership team who had some sort of a role in planning these days. I think the last time I really enjoyed an "O" day was when I use to wear a uniform myself (yes, it has been that long). However, I can say that today was different. The kids and I really enjoyed ourselves. I am beginning to REALLY REALLY REALLY like this idea of not getting involved with the unit and enjoy sitting on the sidelines for a change...lol

I have to give a HUGE KUDOS to those that planned this "O" Day. They really did a fantastic job and really had some great activities and food. They really went the extra mile for the kids. They had so many things for kids to do that there wasn't a second today I saw ANY kids bored, young or old. It is not an easy task planning these events TRUST ME!!!

Anyways here are a few pics from the kids today at "O" day....

I wasn't kidding when I said there was no shortage of things for kids to do...

Here I was thinking that our 'O' days here are more eventful then they were in our old unit.. but then I saw the canoe?? & the nice castle bouncy thing?? OMG.. next time, we're coming to yours! LOL

Ours is held in an old hanger (which is now a paint ball place); but there's something for everyone to do.. but no canoes & our bouncy things are so old that the ducktape doesn't even hold anymore.

So I'm a little jealous, but I'm glad you finally had fun. It is so much better on the sidelines.
