However, on both trips we did manage to see some new sights we haven't seen yet. Thanks to a tip from our friend Andrea we were able to check out the Criminal Museum in Rothenburg. The kids really enjoyed that. In Bamberg we were finally able to see the gardens of the Neue Residenz in bloom as well as finding the Altes Rathaus.
Here are a few pics of our travels...
Altes Rathaus. This place has some interesting history. This section is taken from the Bamberg website..
According to the legend, Bamberg's bishop did not want to give a single millimetre of land to the citizens.
This is why the citizens of Bamberg ramed piles in the River Regnitz for their Town Hall and created an artificial island at the centre of the Regnitz. The location marks the border between the clerical city on the hills and the merchants' island city and has therefore to be considered as a proud demonstration of civil striving for power.
Neue Residenz Rose Garden...
Skyline picture of Rothenburg...
Paul's mom is fascinated with the flowers on the houses here. It truly is a beautiful sight here in Germany. If you look closely you will see a pulley system and that is how they would raise stuff to the upper levels of the house.
The Criminal Museum...
Some Medieval torture tools from the Criminal Museum...
The Holy Blood Alter at Jakobskirche
I'm not sure what we have planned today. We may just take it easy and bum around the house.
